Just before Christmas I had a wedding-free weekend, so Hayley {who I had traveled to the USA with earlier in the year} and I were feeling the travel bug again, so decided to jump on a plane and head to Melbourne for the weekend.
We found it impossible to get accommodation in Melbourne city and our only option was St Kilda. I must admit I wasn’t disappointed as I always stay in the heart of Melbourne city, so I had never ventured down to St Kilda.
I absolutely loved the vibe of St Kilda – funky cafes, pubs where they play Jenga with oversized Jenga pieces, St Kilda beach plus the iconic Melbourne Luna Park. We were extremely blessed with beautiful warm weather.
St Kilda is a short tram ride into the city so we even played tourist with a visit to the Melbourne Gaol for a dose of Melbourne history, took in Federation Square, the Haige chocolate shop, Queen Victoria Markets, the Christmas window displays at David Jones city store, dinner in Lygon Street and even a night out dancing.
