I was heading off to America for a few weeks, partly for a business-related trip, but before we get to the work part, there was time for some fun and capturing images to make available through my print shop. I enjoy having photographic prints on my walls at home and I hope to share that joy with others. Whether you are a DIY decorator or an interior designer wanting prints for your client’s home, we have a variety of photography-based art prints that will look stunning in any home.
If you see any pictures in this photographic series you would like to hang on your walls, a selection of them can be purchased as prints. If the image isn’t in the print shop, just shout out via email and I can do a custom print on request. Visit The Print Shop

It was an overcast day, and after 7 days on the road, I must admit I arrived in Las Vegas a bit tired and feeling very flat, and in a few days I would realised I was coming down with a head cold. We dropped the van back and then a taxi ride to our hotel, the MGM Grand, which is also where the conference is being held, the entire reason we are in the USA.
We are in Las Vegas for a few days for the WPPI photography conference – time to attend some photographer talks, check out the trade show and of course mingle with some local American photographers (… and our friends that also trekked over from Australia).
My entire 2015 American Adventure was planned around the Wedding & Portrait Photographers International (WPPI) photography conference held annually in Las Vegas, after I went for the first time in 2013. Okay I confess, it was more the allure of the photography conference that made it easier for me to want to go back to the USA for a holiday.
It was absolute chaos in the lobby with photographers arriving from all parts of the USA and the world wanting to check in. The conference attracts something like 15,000 photographers. Thankfully we got an early check in for an extra $20, but quite frankly I would have paid more.
Our room looked over Las Vegas as we are right on the Las Vegas Strip, and also the big Cirque Du Soleil sign billboard was right out our window.
Pretty much from Sunday afternoon to Thursday was a whirlwind of seminars, meeting people, checking out products at the trade show and parties. The first night was the WPPI party at Hakkasan, a multi-story nightclub in the MGM Grand Hotel. The second night there was a pool party at the MGM Grand pool, followed by drinks in the bar. The third night was the Fearless party at Diablos on the Vegas strip.
Okay it wasn’t all about partying, I did spend the days in seminars and some good ones at that, where I actually did learn something and was inspired, which is what WPPI is all about for me. One of my favourite parts is the trade show, where I got to check out what’s new in the land of wedding albums and wall art. Now I am back, I will be looking back through the flyers I collected and most likely will have some new products to offer my couples down the track.
Because I had been to Las Vegas in 2013, I had done all the touristy things I wanted to do, so I could focus on the conference this time around … and the parties of course, there are always parties, its Vegas and we are photographers! So there aren’t too many photos to blog for Las Vegas.
Well the conference and trade show had pretty much wrapped but we still had a day and a half in Vegas before flying to New York. We used that time to get our last dose of all things crazy any uniquely Vegas. And one of the nights we even went for a walk down the strip to photograph the pretty signs and lights.
Next stop and final leg of our holiday, New York City!

Being a photographer, I tell stories better through pictures than my ramblings of words on a page.
