Just yesterday I was doing my daughterly duty and dropped my father off at a monthly meeting he attends in the St Mary’s area. After moving back home to Sydney 18 months ago, earlier this year Dad started showing signs of dementia and my brother and I had to make the hard decision of taking away his drivers license. For me driving is my independence so I know the enormity of this decision, but it was for his own safety as well as others on the roads. While he has come to terms with our decision, it does mean Im his taxi service and why I was off playing chauffeur yesterday.
The meetings usually run for 1.5-2 hours so rather than driving home and back again, each way 20 minutes, I decided to take a drive around the area to explore. When you’re a photographer, you are always location scouting ..haha.
To my delight, 5 minutes up the road I came across a semi-rural part of Western Sydney and this magnificent tree. When I first started photography over 15 years ago, I fell in love with macro photography and taking close up detail photos of insides of flowers. That love of photographing flowers has never left me, nor dare I say ever will.
Yours sincerely, flower lover.
